With the recent heavy rains and winds in many parts of the state, it seems like a good time to talk about corn lodging.

Pheromone trapping began for western bean cutworm moths this past week.

Still this week, dairy producers in extreme northern counties were losing forage grasses in their hay fields from armyworm.

In most years, with highly resistant potato leafhopper alfalfa varieties, management of this pest with insecticides usually isn’t needed.

Potato leafhopper populations were noticeably higher after last week’s tropical storm remnants blew through, and now the warmer temperature will drive further increases.
