As many of you know, our statewide moth pheromone trapping network is not active this year. In past years, we would report catches of Black cutworm, Armyworm, Western Bean Cutworm and more. There are a few reasons why we shelved it this year, including funding constraints and staffing shortages.
For spring 2027, we will explore launching the network again. So if this is something of value to you or your clientele, please let us know. The network depends on volunteers to set up, monitor and report on trap counts. Bottom line: if there is enough interest and volunteer effort, we will run these traps again next year.
