Mine cause by the hawthorn leaf mining sawfly. ( Held int the light).

Injury to deciduous tree caused by periodical cicada during an outbreak.

Outbreaks occur every 13-17 years. See Extension bulletin link below.

Inkberry holly leaf mine ( blotch type) Periodical cicada. Note the red veins and eyes. Annual or dog day cicadas are green,

Black locust leaf mines and adult black locust leaf miner. Largely a problem in southern Indiana.

Unlike other miners already covered these miners feed as adults on leaves for long periods. .
