Grey birch in disturbed habitat. Likely to get birch leaf miner. Serpentine leaf mine of Native Holly Leaf miner.

Holding up leaves to the light will help you diagnose leaf miner problems.

Birch leaf miner larva in blotch type mine. Note punctures that indicate where eggs have been laid.

   
These blotch type leaf mines are past the time for effective treatement. Vegetable leaf miner mine. A common problem in perennials and in greenhouse crops.
