Note white stippling on leaves This stippling is and example of discoloration.

Note discoloration of leaves on this tree.

of this hackberry leaf has many black fecal spots.

Holding the ash leaves up to the light reveals the immature plantbugs
that discolored the leaves.

Spider mites life cyle.
Spider mites will discolor leaves by leaving a stippling that closely
resembles that of lacebugs. Spider mites do not leave black fecal spots.
Many spider mites will leave webs.
