At Risk: All North American Ash Trees
US Forest Service
Range of ash in North America. |
The U.S. Forest Service estimates that there are 8 billion ash trees in United States’ rural forests. In Indiana, there are approximately 147 million ash trees in our forests and at least 2 million more in urban areas.
All native North American ash trees (Fraxinus spp.) are vulnerable to attack by EAB. If pesticides are not used, EAB kills 100% of the ash trees it attacks.
