Tippecanoe County Butterfly Encounter Totals
Evonik Wildlife Habitat

There are 150 species of butterflies reported from Indiana, 72 of which are known from Tippecanoe Co. As a result of our annual Butterfly Encounter and additional collecting trips, a total of 48 species are now known from the Evonik Wildlife Habitat (EWHA).

We wish to thank everyone who participated in the 2015 EWHA Butterfly Encounter. Thanks to you, the event was a big success. Below are listed the count totals for the ten years we have been conducting the survey. The 2015 overall total was fairly typical. The numbers for some species were up, while others were down.

*Results for 2011 were from Prophetstown State Park. Evonik habitat area was closed for construction in 2011.
