Arrest That Pest! Program Overview
In general, this program seeks to improve understanding about what invasive species are and why they represent a serious environmental threat. Specifically, the program focuses on the Emerald Ash Borer and the threat it represents to all North American ash trees.
Program Objectives
- To provide information on how to slow the spread of this invasive pest by people and promote environmental stewardship.
- To use citizen scientists to pass on information about the signs and symptoms of EAB, best management practices, and who to contact with questions.
- To provide youth an opportunity to become a part of the solution to the problem of invasive species.
- To inspire youth to play a pivotal role in slowing the spread of Emerald Ash Borer through the use of cross-curricular, youth-friendly lessons and hands on tools.
