Students and professors exhibited at Black Expo 2008. Our exhibit won 2nd place prize.

Black Expo Summer Celebration is now the largest African-American event in the nation, with over 300,000 people in attendance. Purdue and the Forensic Science Program was asked to participate in showcasing our forensic science program. The myriad of programs and events stretches over an 11-day period and includes business workshops, health and wellness, employment opportunities, spiritual enrichment, exhibits, youth activities and entertainment. Local and national celebrities along with individuals, families and members of the corporate community all join in celebration of African-American heritage and culture. Summer Celebration is the signature fund raiser for the nonprofit community organization Indiana Black Expo, Inc. and its’ year-round youth and family programs.
